Avanza World Music Program
Teaching our community about the rich traditions of Latin, Spanish, and World music
Unique cultural and music education for all ages

Performance Lectures
We love to share our appreciation for Latin music with our neighbors. One of the ways we do this is by coming to schools or corporate events and providing performance lectures. We play classic Latin songs and explain their cultural significance as well as their musical lineage. We also show off our own updated compositions where we combine contemporary pop songs with traditional musical influences. From Spain to Latin America to India to the Middle East; we incorporate cultural elements of the international communities that inspire our music in order to share them with our community. Classroom Teaching
As professional musicians, we have a deep respect for educators because they helped us on our journey to find joy and express ourselves through music. We would not be here today without the teachers and tutors who nurtured our abilities through thousands of hours so we could channel them into this project. The band wants to pay this dedication forward and provide ourselves as a resource for music educators. For this service, we go to music rooms around New England and teach students about the music we play. These sessions are often interactive and the students are able to explore Latin styles by learning basic patterns on percussion instruments. When we put these patterns together, they simulate a traditional Latin percussion section. We are also able to integrate information that you think would be specifically useful or of interest to your class, creating a bespoke experience each time.
